If you’re building a new home that includes a golf cart garage door, confirm the dimensions of your golf cart and then give yourself a bit of room on both sides. After a quick Google search, we found that most golf carts are roughly 48″ or 4 feet wide. Height and length vary based on the number of passengers (2, 4, or 6) and if your cart is lifted or not. Lifted golf carts from Club Car can top out at 82″ tall, requiring an 8′ tall door.
Contact your local HOA before planning to incorporate a golf cart garage door. Some communities may not allow a golf cart garage door to be visible from the curb. At the same time, others may require it to match the material and finish of your other garage doors.
Utility Vehicles Garage Door Sizes
If golf carts are for leisure, utility vehicles from Kawasaki and HuntVe are tools used on farms and ranches to get work done. Wider utility vehicles will need garage door widths of at least 6′. With widths ranging from 57″ for a HuntVe 4×4 to 64″ for a Kawasaki MulePro-FX, you can rule out 5′ wide garage doors.

Clopay can’t match a smaller door for a utility vehicle to a standard garage door.
Can I buy a 5′ wide full-view garage door?
We haven’t found one from a big brand like Amarr, Clopay, or Garaga. However, at Doorvana, we can build a full-view garage door to spec.
Can I buy a custom-sized garage door?
Yes. From Doorvana, our wood garage doors have a max width of 24′ and a max height of 20′, but we can’t build a 24′ x 20′. We can build a 24′ x 7′ or an 8′ x 20′. If that’s confusing, and we agree with you, give us a call, and we’ll talk about it.
Most large garage door manufacturers aren’t equipped to adjust their machines to produce a single custom-size door. Steel doors must be built within strict parameters because the sections are stamped by devices that don’t deviate easily. Think of a giant steam roller pressing texture and forming it into steel sheets.
Clopay offers standard widths of 8′, 9′, 10′, 12′, 14′, 15′, 15’6″, 16′, and 18′, and some models can be custom ordered in specific 2″ increments.
